Nine kilometers away from the city of Marrakech in Morocco is where Mr. Benlafkih Karim and his family decided to start their horse breeding. Acquired in 2001, the farm contained hectares of olive trees but also many animal species like sheep, goats, cows, and few horses. All members of the family found their happiness with animals,particularly with horses. As a result, they decided to expand their horse breeding and focused more on purebred Arabian horses and straight Egyptian Arabian horses as they assimilated them to purity and timeless beauty. As Benlafkih Karim says, “they are the symbol of purity and scarcity. We follow their pedigrees over several generations. They have a true story”. Therefore, a temple of straight Egyptian Arabian horses was born: Menara Stud.

Today, Menara Stud enjoys great success thanks to its thorough breeding program that focuses both on genotype and phenotype. Indeed, famous bloodlines can be found in our horses’ pedigrees such as Ansata, Imperial, Al Shaqab and others. In 2015, MrBenlafkih Karim’s efforts were rewarded as he won the price of “Best Breeder in the city of Marrakech and its regions”.

The family also demonstrates its love towards animals through an important breeding of a dog breed called “Sloughi”, which is a member of the sighthound family.
